what to expect
It depends on the season and how private you want it. In warm months I love the Riverwalk at golden hour, Milton Lee Olive Park for skyline views without the crowds, the Art Institute's South Garden, and North Avenue Beach. Do you help plan the proposal?
Chicago proposal photography from an independent photographer generally runs $585 to $985, with most couples landing somewhere between $600 and $900. My sessions start at $735, which puts them in the middle of that range.
How much does a proposal photographer cost in Chicago?
I photograph from a distance with a long lens and I dress like anyone else out for the afternoon. Most partners have no idea I'm there until after the yes. Before the day we'll agree on your exact approach path, a signal so I know when it's happening, and a backup plan if the spot turns out to be crowded. You'll get a full prep guide once you book.
How do you keep the proposal a surprise?
For most spots, no. But some of the most photographed locations in the city do require one, including Millennium Park, Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain. That's not something you need to worry about. Checking permits is part of what I do when we're planning.
